        You like my planting schemes @Verdun !!!!
        Thank you so much!!! Wow you've made my day!!:hapydancsmil:.

        Hubs always reckons I just bung things in.....which between you and me is completely correct! He knows me well.:roflol:

        Have to say that I do actually shock myself at times at how surprisingly good things turn out.

        My bug bear is that some plantings grow bigger than they should and end up in the wrong looking position....can't take any credit for that ,I don't do anything to them :noidea:

        I'm so chuffed!! I have planned to read up on planting schemes during the winter, as I always like to learn something garden related during the gloomy days!

        :yahoo::hapydancsmil::yahoo::hapydancsmil:

        :ThankYou:

                  I'm really pleased with these. One of my favourite flowers is the annual Rudbeckia 'Rustic Dwarf Mixed'. Easy to grow from seed, they flower reliably throughout the summer and the mix usually contains mostly plain yellow, with various shades of red and bronze enhancing the yellow on some flowers.

                  I do prefer the mixed colour flowers, so last year I saved seed from some of the best ones and used them for this year's sowing. Of course, the beauty of growing from saved seed is waiting to see all the variations you get when the flowers open. Here is a selection of some of the lovely variants this year's sowing has produced.

                        I always had trouble with slugs and snails with rudeckia so i stopped growing them.

                          01B81FA7-465F-4533-8834-A9806C0E1D08.jpeg There has been a lot of talk recently about lily beetle but I have had weeks now of lilies flowering everywhere without lily beetle damage :)
                          Not the best of them by any means but these lilies are taller than I am....a 6 footer....without being tree lily types. Although many lilies were sprayed here earlier in the year, these were not so I think controlling numbers elsewhere limits their effect throughout.

                            @pete - it's nice to see your E.cante in bloom :blue thumb: It's a week or two ahead of mine this year.

                            I've just executed two - one on L.lancifolium and the other on Tricyrtis 'Tojen'. Last week I found one on a Roscoea which is a member of the Ginger family!

                            A slightly snatched shot from yesterday of my second Echinopsis to bloom - E.subdenudata..........
