                  I've not had much chance to take photos yet.

                  The first of the Annabelle's has started flowering but the drought has had an effect. The flowers are much smaller than usual and the plant is at least 2ft shorter than normal. I have put the hose into the bottom of the plant as it is very sad. Should have done it a week ago but kept hoping for rain

                  The evening Primrose next to it seems quite happy with the drought :noidea:

                  But self-seeded Evening Primroses down at the end of the garden had to be removed as they had swamped the Dahlia bed (Mrs Shiney uses them for flower arranging and they're looking sad). So a barrow load is on its way to the bin. I left the barrow there so that the bees on them can transfer to the ones growing behind them. As the flowers started to droop we could see them flying across to the others :biggrin:

                  The Clematis that is growing through the Lilac tree is looking good in the early morning sun. The tree had been pruned but we leave the topknot there :thumbsup:

                          Eryngium 'Silver Ghost', sadly only a short-lived plant but hopefully will self-seed. :fingers crossed: Eryngium 'Neptune's Gold' flowering slightly better than I expected in its first year. Eryngium 'Blaukappe' only just starting to turn blue but dominating the middle of the border and producing a sea of flowers in its third year! I'm really not liking the Cephalaria gigantea in the same border but both buds and flowers are lovely, just needs shifting to somewhere where it fits in better! :)

                          That verbascum is gorgeous @Logan, I'm definitely getting one! :biggrin:
