It was winter cold here almost all April, but now it feels like August... Quite unusual, all plants are developing too fast. Or are just being burnt... Certain thing smake quite a display though.:)

Yes it is Simbad and a well behaved plant too, forming lovely big lush clumps without running everywhere :)

Thank you! I love my new tulips with the red-cyclamen edge as the azaleas and the red Japanese quice shrub were a poor colour/height match. Their location is shady, I could not move any of the plants, while the entire group looked dark and inconspicuous. My tuips now play the 'transition-plant' and I'm really happy that the flowering periods coincided! :yahoo:

Jenny, it's very hot for this time of year:
                        Night - 12-15 C
                        Day - 27-30 C
In early April, we had daytime temperatures of 2-3 C, awfully cold! :dunno:

                        Here's some more:

                        Spent erythroniums and crocus leaves dominated by heucheras/tiarellas, phlox subulata on the edge of the stones;

                        Other phlox varieties...

Lovely pictures :dbgrtmb: I'll have to get the camera out!

                            In the meantime.

And after April, when May follows,
And the whitethroat builds, and all the swallows!
Hark, where my blossom'd pear-tree in the hedge
Leans to the field and scatters on the clover
Blossoms and dewdrops—at the bent spray's edge—
That 's the wise thrush; he sings each song twice over,
Lest you should think he never could recapture
                            The first fine careless rapture!
And though the fields look rough with hoary dew,
All will be gay when noontide wakes anew
The buttercups, the little children's dower
—Far brighter than this gaudy melon-flower!
