    I'm not an expert but i'd hazzard a guess at Lobelia.

      It's one of the campanulas. Pretty at this time of year, needs all those flowery stalks removed after flowering, tends to spread rapidly at the edges.

          Yeah, I'd say Campanula too. One usually finds it all over the place, once it's planted, so it can be a bit of a nuisance.

              I says it be campanula. Very distinctive, mat form spreading thing. Blooms twice per year and doesn't care if you care or not. It grows in gaps between paving stones etc.

              I have a neighbour who grows this.
              It's surprising as his entire garden comprises of a square lawn, which he cut fortnightly, and an 18" border round it that comprises of chunky clay soil and NOTHING, not even weeds!
              The path in front of the house is 18" above the lawn and the "soil" slopes up to it.
              This "campanula", if that's what it is, seems to be growing from under the concrete where the path meets the clay.
              He obviously needs more time to get colour into his garden - he's only been in the house for 35 years.
