    Hi

I live in Oxon, and it's been fairly mild recently. My lawn is looking awful after a winter of two dogs dancing about on it, and peeing for England. :) In the past I have always repaired it by fencing off an area for a while and reseeding bare patches. When can I start on the lawn repairs - will I have to wait for all risk of ground frost to pass or can I start soon? I noticed the council park department has started to reseed in local parks, does that mean it's OK to do it now?

You'd be fine to do it now I think. :)

The best time is usually towards the end of April.

I have just reseeded a smallish area of my back garden, did it over a week ago, not much happened until I covered the area with a plastic sheet and 'hey presto' germination within four days. Rather a lot of rain at the moment so I will leave the sheet down for a few more days.
