i don't usually have Lobelia at this time of year (usually just pick up a tray or two as and when we need them during the summer) but i was very kindly gifted two trays by my wonderful lovely mum :wub2: they were bought in Tesco's so I've been hardening them off the last two weeks (out during the day and popped into the shed at night) they're growing nicely and even have a few flower buds! what i need to know is when would be the earliest i can plant them out? im itching to get going with them :hapydancsmil:

I am by no means an expert, but I have 4 different types of lobelia that I planted out last weekend. They are all in hanging baskets, and I did the same at this time last year and they all survived and bloomed really well over several months. Are you worried about the temperature dropping or the slugs?

It should be OK around now for Lobelia . I put my Begonia baskets out today which can be tad tender. ( Please note all my gardening advice starts with "should be")

        Hi Honeybunny,

I agree with Ben and Harry, I think after the extremely warm weather we've had lately I don't think there is a very high risk of frost. Plus, I note that you're in a coastal location so that helps as well.
