    Hi,

I planted a beech hedge bear root in October 2016. I've been told to take the tops off the taller plants so the hedge will fill out at the bottom. I'm just wondering when I should do this. I've seen conflicting advice, some saying mid August and others saying to do it when its dormant in the winter. What is the correct answer?

    Thanks
