Where are you from/have you lived?

I know we've got a diverse range of peeps here on GC and others are well travelled, so I thought it would be interesting to see where we've all been

I was born in Haverfordwest in the most beautiful county of Pembrokeshire.
When I was 18 months old my parents emigrated to South Africa and we lived just outside Johannesburg.
When I was 11 I moved back to Wales (Port Talbot) for a few months before moving to Prestwich (Manchester) and subsequently Mosley Common (Manchester again).
Just before my 18th birthday I moved back to Port Talbot, where I stayed for some years or so before moving to Cardiff and from there to London at about 24 years of age.
Stayed in London for 3 years then moved to Coventry for 6 years, then back to London for another 3 years, then moved back to Manchester (Ellesmere Park and now Salford) in 2002, where I've been ever since.

I travelled a fair bit between South Africa and Rhodesia (where my dad moved when he and my mum split up). My dad moved to Dubai later on so have travelled back and fore there and he bought a holiday home in Florida so have been there half a dozen times or so.
Done the usual holiday destinations such as Malta, France, Spain, Greece as well.

I haven't been abroad in over a decade but my next holiday destination will probably be New Zealand as my cousin lives there.

What about everyone else?

Edited cos I forgot honeymoon cruise from Port Canaveral in Florida to Nassau in the Bahamas!

 

Very proudly born and raised in Hull, East Yorkshire. Done the usual holidays in Turkey, Cyprus and France. A couple of years ago me and my then girlfriend went travelling to China, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Malaysia and Thailand.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, moved at age 13 to Macedonia, Ohio, USA. Got married, then moved to Downingtown, PA USA. then moved to Parkesburg, PA after 2nd marriage, where I remain presently. Holiday/vacations, numerous places: Canada, Middle, East and West side of Canada, California a few times, Oregon, Washington state. Several states around PA north south east and west. Did some Mid -west States. Visited Belize, and Dominican Rep.

 

Born a Cumbrian in Kirklinton n/r Carlisle, North of Hadrian's wall but thankfully south of the scottish border. Lived my formative years in Penrith, local dialect as Peeruth!

Joined the Mob and saw a lot of the Earth care of H.M.T.Q. France, Singapore Bahrain, Hong Kong, Aussie, the states, the Malasian Jungle (North Kelantan), after leaving the mob saw Oman.

Now washed up in Wiltshire. There are better places, but it will do!

Born in Chester because my dad was there for work. He was from Bridgend and my Mum was a Londoner.
At 5 moved to Muswell Hill for a year, then to Sittingbourne in Kent, where I stayed until moving to SW France eleven years ago.

For holidays I've been very lucky. Caravanned all round the Uk. A number of different parts of Greece inc. Crete three times. Slovenia, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Belgium, Italy. Cruises: up the Norwegian coast and on to Svalbard (Spitzbergen), then on a small ship round Iceland calling at lots of places, also twelve islands in the Caribbean in fourteen days with Channel Four Garden Club (who remembers that?) led by Roy Lancaster!!!
Wildlife holidays (I have worked with endangered mammals, mainly bats and dormice) in Scotland, Romania, Namibia and a bat handling workshop in Belize.
Well I suppose all my holidays are wildlife holidays really as the binoculars are always with me

but travelled to London,Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland mostly for holidays. Eventually I got the man of my dreams (well....almost) and my priority then became raising splendid children...

 

I was born where JWK is, then I moved to Spruceland, now i'm in Strongylodon country.

 

My sister-in-law is from Milan and they still spend summers there and in the mountains near Lake Orta. Not too many miles from Turin

 

Born in Boston Lincolnshire, stayed there until I went to university.
Studied at Newcastle and Southampton.
Then Braintree Essex for 12 or 13 years.
Latest resting hole Paignton in Devon for the past 18 years.

 

Born in Suffolk, still here, never lived anywhere else.

Did go over the border into Norfolk once, they're a rum lot up there. Talk funny too.

And don't even get me started on Essex...

 

Born and raised in Derby, went to uni in Hull (lived in Cottingham first year @nFrost). Travelled quite a bit including a 2 month charity road trip to Mongolia via many places in 2009. Lived in North London (southgate) for 2 years before settling here in Coventry.

 

Born in east Wigan after 64 years now live in west Wigan . Hey its just my rock and roll lifestyle man ( Went to Stoke on Trent , Trentham Gardens , lovely , once for an afternoon out )

 

Born in Blackpool, moved to Wirral when I was 11. Traveled extensively, france, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Greece and Greek Islands, Spain, Italy, Portugal, New York, iom, Luxembourg,Holland, even Scotland :-)

Favourite place has got be northern Italy (lake como) and hope to live there one day.
Off to Cannes, Monaco, St tropez, Dijon, Reims, mid France (Grenoble), castellane, Florence, Pisa, Alessandria, Livorno, San remo, Holland and New York this year.

 

Born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, currently live just outside Bakewell, Derbyshire. I'm not that well-travelled!
