Where You Live.......

Could it be possible that when people join GC and put their details in there is a mandatory section about where they live , Which would show up like it does now when people put it in ?
I'm not talking about street name or owt so personal, but a town or even a county would help.
Sometimes I give advice and then halfway through I think hang on a minute I don't even know if this persons in Inverness or Penzance !

 

I agree that at least having your zone would be helpful.

I'm going to my profile right now to see what I can add to make my location more transparent!

 

I think we have been here before, for some reason, some people, dont want to give a location, no matter how vague.

 

I agree with Pete, there may be something or someone in a members past that they want to keep there. Giving their location makes them trace-able.

I understand from past discussion here, that the zone numbers have different meanings over in the UK versus USA. but I believe Canada and USA are the same. My location has always been there.

 

I don't see how they can be traceable if they put something like Name.... : Superman

It puts me off giving advice if I don't know a rough location. They could be in another country for all I know so the advice given could be completely wrong.

 

18 years of nasty neighbour and having someone who listened to gossip and belived it and then was trying to run us over of 6 months, make's it nice for me to be where i am, ie: by the bonfire
Any way, there's a few people on here where i have found out where they live queit easy and i could give you there fully address (but i wouldn't) even if you put your nearist big city as your location which could be 20 miles away

If you want to be in the spot light, that's ok, but some people don't
