Why do some dog owners think their dog's waste is a problem to be sorted out by someone else?

Would they like it if I bagged up my waste and dumped it on their front lawn? :gaah::gaah:

This wasn't the only bag left along the river either

As a dog owner, I can honestly say that this infuriates me. We always bring Smudge's doings home to be disposed of (no exceptions) and I simply cannot see why anyone should think they are immune from doing so.

We've got dog waste bins all over the island but there are still people that don't bother!

I can't see why they bag it first then leave it. If they're that lazy then don't bother bagging it, the waste will rot, the plastic won't!

That is another thing that I cannot understand - why are the poop bags not the compostible ones that are used for food? At least that way when they went to landfill they would break down quickly.

As a dog owner there is nothing worse than going for a walk and having to make sure your dogs dodge the 'doings' as well as your self:mad:.You see signs all over the place about 'picking up' after your dog.Does anyone actually get prosecuted ? It's the same with 'Dogs to be kept on a lead',the times I've had a huge so called 'friendly' dog bound up to me and my dogs not on a lead when they should be and when I've mentioned about the lead they've said it's 'fine they're friendly'.Well it's not FINE IMO.My dogs are friendly but if another snaps mine don't take it sitting down. It's becoming very uncomfortable walking a dog these days and especially when you see some people with dogs they cannot control either on or off a lead...

There's no dogs allowed on the beach at Seatown, yet loads of folk let them run wild. Had one grab and eat my bait

One dog jumped up me and tried to lick me to death, the owner said he won't hurt me, I said he will actually as i'm allergic to them.

I am glad to see a dog owner agreeing with me on this. I am quite frightened of strange dogs, though I'm fine with ones I know and I find it extremely intimidating to have large animals come bounding up to me, uncontrolled, with the owner complacent and unconcerned.
I especially hate it if I'm out walking and pass a property with dogs, and the dog races round the perimeter barking madly. I know they are only doing what dogs do, but I find it pretty scary, especially if it's a big breed. In fact, sometimes I just can't walk past, which causes problems.

In answer to the question "Why Bother", they have bagged it to stop people treading in it, don't want to take it home with them and there aren't adequate "poo bins" around.

I am not frightened of strange dogs but I am always concerned for my little Bichon dog, where I used to live a little dog similar to mine was badly attacked by a staffordshire bull terrier and another lady had her dog's ear torn off by the same breed of dog. Both the dogs who were attacked were on leads, the other dogs weren't.

Same with the nature park I volunteer at. We have countless signs up asking owners to keep their dogs on leads but choose to ignore them.

We have adders on site and have heard of cases where dogs have been killed by them, yet people still ignore them.

Not to mention we have ground nesting birds on site and again there was a case at a nearby reserve where a dog off a lead destroyed 80% of an avocet nesting site.

If they don't want to walk around carrying a bag of dog poo, then they should take a small knapsack, place the bag of poo snapped shut in a margarine carton or similar and take it home.

Got fed up with that, their dogs were obviously aggressive but always said "they've never done it before" although loads of other dog owners told us the same thing happend to them.

Heard about somebody who fell asleep fishing as the tide went out and awoke to find he'd caught a fox.

Bet if you picked up discarded dog poo, followed the dog owner home and chucked it in their front garden/porch you'd get a reaction.

I know someone :coughs: that wrapped it up in a newspaper, placed it on their front doorstep, lit the newspaper then knocked on the door before retiring to a respectable distance.......
