We've had it growing in our garden for decades. The leaves look quite spectacular at times but are extremely vicious :rolleyespink:

At one time a local garden centre said they would love to buy them from us (we had loads) but the plant regulations said we would have to have a 'plant heath certificate' before they could have them. They did send us some of their customers. :blue thumb:

We spent a week in the Lake District and saw quite a lot of wildflowers. There are bound to be some that are in more than one photo.

I suppose we could run a competition on who can name the most plants :dbgrtmb: - no prizes given (It also saves me trying to name them )

The essence of this thread brings back many happy memories. Val's parents and a family friend bought a plot of land on the Isle of Wight, Calborne Rd. Carrisbrook. After Suday lonch, we'd go for a stroll across the downes. I was always lagging behind. My eyes glued to the ground. To me, so much beauty is passed by by us as it is at ground level.

Then being a regular visitor to the New Forest. I would set ou wit my faithful border collie, Lady. In no time at all, our route became established. Here and there, I'd meet once again the scarlet pimpernel. Good morning, Sir Peter. Then an old friend, a friend from my studies of medicine and homeopathy. Good morning Eyebright. Here I must suggest that despie the smallness of this plant, if you have any appreciation for the grand creation of our world. Please take a closer look. OK my field of science inclodes masses of microsopy. Go on. even with a basic magnifying glass. This tiny flower exhibits so much fine detail, with all those fine lines etc. Passing on. The wild meadowfield has so many smaller plants. Let your imaginations take over for a while and enter the world of Gulliver. Trust me. The tiny world has so much to offer us.
