Wind turbine - Entertaining failure

    We all know that a wind turbine's job is to capture energy from wind.

    Modern wind turbines have brakes, to prevent them going to fast if the wind gets too strong.

    But what happens if the brake fails?

        I'm guessing most will be shut down in this part of the country if the wind speeds get up to those forecast.
        Just another reason to point out that they are a liability, cost massive amounts of money and rarely work when you need them.
        I think really it would be best if they were all just left to self destruct.
