    Your beautiful images reminded me of just how fantastic Windermere is. I last went there in the early 1980s and your images brought it right back to me. Thank you for sharing, Rosa.

    thanks strawman and robert, it was lovely i really enjoyed it, the boat ride was great into ambleside and robert hehe we were walking through ambleside and hubby spotted lindas B&B couldnt believe it and there was a guy also taken pics so i nipped across the road and got some pics, the first day we were there it was a bit misty as you can see by the first pics then it brightened up after that into the second day,the locals were so lovely, we stayed at the melbourne 2 brothers run it they were great and their guest house is lovely, we went for drinks in a local bar right by were we stayed and got right in with the locals they are lovely people. had a great time

    Lovely photos Rosa.Glad that you had good weather and that you enjoyed yourselves:thumb: I am glad that we go at the time of the year when a lot of the crowds have gone as it would do my head in to have all those people all over the place:D

    thanks kandy, yes there was a lot of holiday makers there, lots of americans and chinese guess the lakes is a popular place for tourists, the local pub we went to wasnt packed in the evenings all locals which was great to chat to them, felt as iff i had known them for years such lovely people

    thanks kelly, it was my first visit for years i used to go to the lakes in my 20s i was a water skier and we used to camp and take our power boat up there every weekend used to be great, skiers no longer go there as they stopped power boats now, just heard all the power boats and skiers go to kielder now, must go up there sometime
