    Hello!!

    Can you please help!

I bought some organic Winter Purslane plug plants & they have been growing very well. But over the last three weeks I have lost four plants. They look lovely & healthy, then they just suddenly wilt. When I have a look at the plant, they completely fall away from their stems.....almost as if they have been cut off. I have other another winter salad in the same bed, & that has not been affected at all.

I have moved four plants into the greenhouse to try to salvage. I have left two in the original bed.

    Please can you advise.

    Thank you in advance :0)

    Hi Bigbird,

Check the roots of the ones that have wilted, might be root aphids.

      Hiya Ziggy,

Thanks for that. I have already thrown the infected ones away, so I can't check :0(. Is there anything specific that I need to be looking for?

      Hey Bigbird,

If they were the culprits there may be some still in the soil where you pulled the plants from, they are pale, translucent morlock like critters. They normally go for lettuce.....goes to get book...... No, not related to lettuce:scratch:

First sign you know you've got them is when a healthy plant drops. Usually worse attacks when the plants are underwatered.

        Sorry for the delay Ziggy!

I checked the soil, & couldn't find anything. The other salad, that wasn't affected, is Wild Rocket....hope this helps! :0)
