    Hi,

Have just seen some ads for Winter flowering Violas plugs, for dispatch in August.

Are there really varieties of Viola more hardy than others or is it just the fact they are sown late in the year ?

Bought some seed recently and we were going to sow later for planting out and flowering in spring but would be nice if we could get them going now if they will stand our north of England winter, which are generally so much more milder ?

Hi it all depends on weather and where they are cause last year the winter was mild and some pansies and violas were flowering yet the previous year it was cold /snow none bloomed but waited till spring
