    My Nephew Ben who is a student there, gave us a guided tour and a look at behind the scenes. Ben is only 20 but his knowledge amazed us and made the day so very much more pleasurable.

    We were in the Glasshouse by 9.15am...It doesn't open until 10am so we had a clear run for a while.

    Its time I went again, not been since the new glasshouses have opened.

    Thank you Marley...Proud? I'll say! There were even some tears at the end of the day, I haven't spent a day like that, ever.
    Yes ,there from 9am 'til 5pm with only two fifteen minutes breaks. [​IMG] Wonderful!

    I had to laugh at the sign "Giant Bird of Paradise, Strelizia nicolai. It's not a banana!" I bought my S nicolai thinking I was buying a banana. [​IMG] I had seen it then sent t'other half back to get it and he came back and said there were no banana plants outside, just the S nicolai so he got one anyway! :D

    Ben,AKA Hippeus,a G-Corner member is a two year student and his course will be completed in August. He has applied for positions at well known estates in order to further his education.
    Among the eighty pic's I took,Ben is on one in a glass house,so keep your eyes peeled.. ;)
