My name is Diana and I have just found this wonderful forum. I recently retired and was also recently widowed and I plan to get more into my garden after several years of having no time at all. I have a greenhouse but no vegetable area, although my husband and I had a huge allotment in the past and even won a prize for it ! These days the garden was turned to 'easy maintenance' beds and lawn. I have to care for it myself ( and suffer with sciatica :( ) so dont plan to turn back to vegetable plots but instead grow in containers. I am trying the following in pots and troughs on a very small scale..........
    runner beans ( 2 types )
    broad bean ( dwarf )
    spring onion
    various lettuce
    carrots
    red onion sets
    in the greenhouse
    3 types of tomato
    sweet peppers
    chilli peppers
    cucumbers
Various herbs but mostly coriander ( my fav herb )
    On the patio
    Strawberries in a planter
    dwarf patio peach
Sweet peas in a tub and canes

I think I shall be returning here on a regular basis ! :hehe:

    Welcome Blueroses.

I don't grow any veg myself, so can't give any advice on that. But I have found people here very helpful and have learnt a huge amount.

The thing to do is to get stuck in and you may find that you end up growing all manner of things that you originally never dreamed of doing. That happened to me.
