    Hoping for some help here.
With my old PC I could write a letter then print it, bung in an envelope and send it off.

I dont seem to be able to do that with my lap top.
At least I cant find the programme that does that, am I missing something?

I use "Word" to do all that, it's part of Microsoft Office - maybe you don't have that?

Hi pete, There's some freeware called 'Openoffice' which you can download and which provides a reasonable alternative to 'Word' etc. Then you just need to check that your printer is 'installed' on your laptop...

Word is quite expensive now I think.

There is OpenOffice which can do everything MS Office can do, but is completely free.

            I use Open Office too.
I had word on my older laptop but found OO just as good for what I need. The biggest advantage of OO used to be that it was a more compact space efficient package although that may not be the case now.

Or use WordPad which comes pre-installed. Should suffice for simple letter writing.
