            Morning all

Sun is streaming in the window which is nice, albeit that there is a mild chill to the place. Still no central heating as the gas man is flat out and didn't manage to get to us yesterday, and doesn't look like he will today - - I might need to concede defeat and get the electric rads out for a couple of days until he gets here. My low grade man-flu continues, and has moved onto phase two (nose stopped running, now completely blocked, and eyes are now streaming instead; and I now have the beginnings of the chest pain/burn so its on the move); not going to work today (although I will work at home) and tomorrow is looking doubtful truth be told; as much as anything there is no point passing it on to everyone else.

Woo - glad to hear that Penny is better, if you are anything like me you will worry more about her when she is ill than you do about yourself. :doggieshmooze:

Shiney - Happy GC Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day, but I have a feeling that it will be a busy one regardless......

Zigs - I take it that the weather was a bit blustery round your way last night? Or was it something else.....??

Everyone - hope you have a wonderful day, and manage to stay warm and dry.

Moyra, I'm pleased that Amber is feeling better :hapydancsmil:

@fat controller I hope your cold clears up soon :)

I've got a touch of vertigo, but it's nothing that four hours of mowing won't cure :roflol:. So I'm off out into the garden as soon as the sun has dried the grass a bit. Got to have things looking spic and span for all the visitors on Saturday. When the lawns are cut the garden looks good. :blue thumb:

                Morning everyone,

Its a cool morning here and we did get a little frost overnight too!!

I'm home today but have a bunch of things to do, need to stop at the bank, do some grocery shopping, which I definitely want to do today with it being a long weekend here, its our Thanksgiving and the stores will be insane here, so want to get all that done, and try and cut the lawn in there too.

Off to do some laundry....so enjoy your day everyone.

Hey safe to come out? ( no, no big revelation before you all get excited) are we now a Man flu free zone?
Had no consistent internet for past couple of days, blamed weather and all sorts till I noticed I had knocked the connection point:wallbanging: the big kids we have with us ATM have been going mad, it's like they are being withdrawn from drugs, fortunately the weather has blown over internet back on and all is good:whistle::snork:
Hope all is good in your world too and in the doggie world for Penny!

Man flu still in existence @Adendoll, but I am trying to fight the blighter off - Not sure if I am winning or not, but its on the move into my chest, so we will see.

Glad you got your internet sorted. I know what you mean about modern kids and withdrawal symptoms - we had a wee power cut about a year ago and it was as though a death had occurred in Little C's eyes. She couldn't get her head round why her tablet wouldn't get her on the net - "it's got plenty of battery" came the cry - - yeah, but the router and modem have no power.....

                    Apparently that answer didn't compute

                          Aloha everyone,

Adendoll, Man Flu is always around and only a small amount of incidences are false alarms. They still need to be treated seriously! :nonofinger: :heehee:

Woo, I'm pleased Penny has improved :blue thumb:. I was chatting to a vet last week who said that overweight cats and dogs are become quite a problem nowadays . He said that we're too soft hearted

My foot was really giving me trouble yesterday after having done a load of mowing. I had to give it a rest, have another shower and change the dressings. I think it was the heat generated in my shoes that made it worse.

The garden has been covered in leaves from all our trees. The worst area is where we have our fruit trees. It was at least three inches deep in leaves from those trees plus the five giant poplars alongside them. We have about another twenty deciduous trees that cover the rest of the garden in leaves. These include enormous willow, silver birch and cherry prunus trees!

I think that households should have an occasional internet free day. It's good for the soul :heehee:. Youngsters need to realise that there are other things that can be done apart from having their electronic communications welded to their hands!

We find it a bit difficult without the 'net' as a lot of our communication is done by email but we are able to survive . We receive about 150 genuine emails per day. About 50 of them are easy to deal with as they're mainly acknowledgements or thank you emails.

I've got a busy morning with four hours of intensive work preparing things for the tournament on Sunday. This afternoon will be taken up with last minute things for tomorrow's charity event and then I'm off to the bridge club this evening. Bridge finishes about 11 p.m. tonight and then I need to go shopping for last minute things. From the all night Tesco I then need to go to the village hall and pick up an urn, big tea/coffee pots etc. I should be home by 12.30 :blue thumb:.

Then early tomorrow the charity will be delivering my Police cones (they store them for me), their banners and a big tray of mugs for the drinks. I'll then put the cones and signs out.

                          Have a great day

                          Aloha!

Good morning everyone, what an atrocious day it was yesterday with thunder and lightening and hailstones nearly the size of golf balls. Anyway I got my DVLA field vision eye test out of the way lets hope I have done enough to keep my license. Well until next February when I need to ask for it to be extended beyond my 70th birthday.

Shiney, you have so much on it's no wonder your foot doesn't get time to repair itself.

FC, you could do without that man flu going to your chest. I am finding my sinuses are going down onto mine.

Loli, I hope your Uncle Peter's send off goes well this afternoon and that you have a lovely weekend off work.

Zigs, enjoy your break down to Bristol to see the girls.

WOO, poor Penny on a diet. It is so hard to deny them their treats I find, but
Amber's diet is slowly coming along.

Have a lovely day everyone, the sun is shining here and all is well with the world.
Stay safe and dry if possible, God bless. :wub2:
