Thanks for all the congrats.

Nippy here as well but the sun is now shining.

I can find my scissors but still went off for my haircut the other day. Fortunately my old staff refuse to charge me for it. So I've had 15 years of friendly freebies.

All the hard work for the tournament is over for another year so I had better get on with my other projects. No peace for the wicked! I'm organising a one day event for the county organisation, later in the month, for beginners and less experienced players. It's hard work trying to persuade newbies to enter things as they are, naturally, very nervous about it.

Aloha everyone,

A busy day today. I have a breakfast meeting (saves me making my own ) in town this morning and then need to be back in time to open the bridge club after lunch. The club will finish in time for me to get home at 5.30 and then I have another meeting in town, at the town hall, at 6 p.m.

I'll cook some dinner for myself when I get home from that - should be around 9.30.

When they pulled down the old town hall and built a new one they decided to call it the Civic Centre . I'll have to ask someone why they changed its name . Trouble is that nobody in authority working there now would have been working in the place when it was the town hall.

Well, that was a busy day! The morning meeting was at the football club in the town. The club is working hard on its P.R. and is trying to improve the sponsorship that helps to improve their facilities and provide a service to the town. They now support 20 youth teams

They hosted the meeting which was a networking meeting for local businesses. A good way to get their name, and what they are trying to do, out to the businesses in the area. I'm not interested in football but found the tour of their place quite interesting. They have an artificial pitch which is fantastic. In the winter it gets used by some of the top teams, for practice, when the weather is too bad to use a grass pitch.

Meeting some of the business people was also interesting. I didn't even know there were such things as some of the jobs they did! . I had a good chat with a close-up magician. That's not an easy job to try and promote business.

The evening meeting at the town hall was equally interesting. It was to introduce a new art exhibition that is called 'Art in Business'. It has been organised by the Arts Trust and the local authority and it's to promote artists to work with, and be sponsored by, businesses. Some of the local big companies are already allowing 'residences' for young artists in their businesses which help to get the artists up and running and also to promote the business - in a small way. It has also been shown to improve staff morale when they see that the company is interested in artists and in providing a nicer working environment. A surprisingly good presentation and exhibition.

So, today I have to get things done for ourselves .

The drought continues and the farmers have sprinklers working on the fields constantly.

Good morning all my friends hope you are all well,yesterday I found out I have joined the diabetic club(Type 2),have been given some tablets and a list of what I can and can't eat,and cannot make head or tail of it,its so contridictory ,so if anyone can advise me it would be very appreciated,enjoy your day
