        Aloha everyone,

We've, during the last week, had people turning up to look at the garden (open invitation to anyone) to see the Spring colour and the hundreds (maybe thousands ) of cowslips, primulas and primroses.

Yesterday a couple from the village who live in a tiny (almost toytown size) cottage popped in to see it. Their cottage is no bigger than our summerhouse, 400 years old (daub and wattle) and beautifully decorated, Their garden is about 12ft x 30ft and they have an aviary and a duck house. At one time they had up to 140 birds in the aviary (they bred, and cross bred, them). The have two male ducks that have been with them for 10 years and have the run of the garden during the day and their house is heated at night. The ducks won't settle down for the night until they've been told a bedtime story!

They came in the afternoon, spent three hours wandering the garden and then stayed for dinner (I've always got plenty of food handy :blue thumb:). We've only ever just chatted to them when we've passed their cottage so it was an interesting afternoon and evening.

We're preparing some ground ready to be paved to hold more trays of plants that Mrs Shiney is making. I guess we will make it about 7ft x 14ft but may make it more. The slabs are coming from a house a couple of miles away - advertised on the local internet site - to be taken by whoever wants them. 72 slabs 2ft x 2ft. We'll take all and then decide where we shall put the ones left over.

Keep well and have a great day

        Aloha!

A while back I wrote off to all the banks asking them if they owed me any money from mis sold ppi, had a few hundred quid back off some of them, then yesterday I got a letter from one saying they'd reviewed my claim :yikes:

Thought they wanted the money back for a minute, but then found the enclosed cheque for..............................................................................................................................

                      Aloha everyone,

We got an email last night saying that Mrs Shiney's new car is arriving and we're trying to arrange for delivery on Monday :hapydancsmil:. So we're taking her old car in for an MOT this morning as the purchaser will only buy it if it passes - but he will pay for the MOT.

If Michael turns up this morning :fingers crossed: I'll get him to pick up the first 36 of the paving slabs that we'll (he'll) be laying in the garden. :)

It will be a busy day with all the other things I have to do. :phew:

Keep well and have a great day

Michael has been bringing the paving slabs here. He has borrowed a van as his has a puncture. They're very heavy and I've decided that we only want 32 of them. They're granite slabs that are 2" thick and 2ft x 2ft. Even Michael, who is big and strong, is tiring. :rolleyespink:

hmmm, thought I posted this yesterday - typed but not posted so here we go- will edit to show date
                              Good day everyone- April 18th
I slept in a little late as I was enjoying a science fiction book well into the wee hours last night.

We are promised a sunny day today and I have decided to leave my visit to the passport office and other indoor activities until tomorrow when it shall be raining.

Good day everyone - Today, April 19

Well I didn't get to spend my day outside. No sooner than I got my pots set up to start moving seedlings than the telephone rang and it was the home telling me they were taking my Aunt to the hospital. I am third on her list of people to call in emergencies. Spent the day at the hospital. It was something minor, thank goodness. But I am a bit annoyed -Turns out my cousin/her daughter- 1st on list- was taking a painting workshop and had turned off her phone, 2nd on the list, her grandson, was out shopping....

Today I have business to take care of and good thing as it is cloudy and miserable out there so it's nice to be paid to stay inside. I'll have to leave the visit to the passport office for another day as we must turn in our old passport while waiting for the new one and it looks like I will need to flip across the border early next week. Long before our government would ever get around to issuing the new one. :rolleyespink:

Have a safe and warm day everyone :)
