    Aloha everyone,

A lovely sunny morning so it should warm up later.

We're still working hard on the garden but are not sure what may be in bloom for Open Day. Things are more advanced than normal so a lot of things will have gone over. The tree peony and Exochordas have almost finished and the Lilac trees are in full bloom, as are the Laburnum. They may not last until Open Day. We'll have to wait and see.

Meetings today so I shall have a chance for my back to ease up as I was doing too much pulling out of Lilac suckers that had made root runs through the other plants - especially the heather.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

      Good day everyone
For heavens sake @Zigs be careful!!!

My house siding fellows will be coming today and I left the solar panels up until it's close to their ETA.

It will be nice to get this outside work finished so I can get back to fixing up the lawn. Out front I have a large area that was nothing but crabgrass that had crept over from next door so I poisoned the lot. After all the work if finished I need to get it scraped off watered down and lay some sod there. Then there are a few bare spots which I will seed over.

It only went down to 36f last night (as predicted :yikes:- how did that happen?) and tonight we are predicted to slide to 39f so I think I will start moving more things out to the gardens. Excitement!!

Have a safe and warm day everyone :)

          Aloha everyone,

Yesterday turned out to be a warm sunny day but quite a cold night. The temperature is rising with the sunshine and the forecast is warm for the next week. :blue thumb:

The sprinkler is still working overtime and I shall need to move it to the veg plot as we can't plant anything into rock hard ground. :phew:

My friend is coming this afternoon to help put up the oak fascia boards on the pergola (he couldn't make it yesterday). As they are so heavy we can't hold them in place whilst he screws them in but he's bringing large clamps to do that. We just need to get up there and hold them, briefly, whilst he clamps them. Then he can screw away to his heart's content :snork: It will then not need any maintenance - ever :hapydancsmil: 14ft x 6" x 1" planks of oak are quite heavy when standing on ladders and holding them up high.

I've potted on more chillies and the runner beans are coming along well.

Keep well and have a great day

          Aloha!

                Good day everyone
@shiney as I said to @Zigs yesterday, for heaven's sake be careful!!

We've got clouds again but it is in the low 40's so cool but not unpleasant. I don't know if the siding guys work while there is a threat of rain. One side of my upper floor has new siding, the back of the house is partially stripped and the other side and front still have the old siding to protect them. I hope we don't get heavy rains against that exposed part :hate-shocked:

I planted out some of my tomatoes yesterday and placed some pots with more toms out alongside them. Haven't looked to see how they fared over night. :fingers crossed: It got to the point I couldn't step into the greenhouse so I had to move them :doh:Hope I don't pay for this...:rolleyespink:

Have a safe and warm day :)

                  Good afternoon,

:phew: @shiney please be careful today, especially whilst screwing in the garden up against the oak, I'd hate for you to get a splinter in your finger!! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:.

Lovely day here, sunny & warm, I could do with some rain my turf is looking a bit sad, I keep watering it but it really needs some rain :blue thumb:

I hope you are all well. :grphg:

                          Aloha everyone,

We've had our first rain :hapydancsmil:. Not enough, but a start :)

Having a problem with rats and rabbits :mute: Time to get the rifle out! :noidea:

Well, we managed to get the oak fascia fixed with just a few problems. (@Beckie76 but no problem with splinters - anywhere :heehee:) It would have been easier with four people instead of just the two of us - but they would have had to bring their own ladders :snork:

We're spending a lot of time, and using a lot of compost, with repotting (600 litres in the last 10 days). It's amazing how repotted plants suddenly surge ahead of those that aren't repotted :rolleyespink:

Keep well and have a great day

                          Aloha!

                            Good day everyone
I'm late posting. I was so excited to get started putting things back in place after the siding fellows finished that I was out moving the barbecue, wood oven, patio furniture etc. back where they belong and all while still in my jammies. :)

Shall be putting the solar panels and wiring back in place today and planting out more of my tomatoes. Okay, I'll do that when properly dressed. :heehee:

Later today my tomatoes and hanging pots will get their first taste of rain.:tomato:

Have a super day and keep warm and safe :)
