    Bolognese or chilli. :blue thumb:

99F/37C so far and getting hotter. Although we don't allow Sarafi indoors we have let him in to the summerhouse where we have the aircon on. He really doesn't like the heat. Someone coming for afternoon tea and it's too hot outside. So it will be aircon on but door open.

I have the sprinkler on the veggies and counted 17 birds sitting under the water spray. There may be more of them under the courgettes. Bees and wasps are on the fringes of the watering and drinking from the wet ground.

Thank you for the link - I've bookmarked it :) Just an fyi, I made a large meatloaf with bacon, onions and other mysterious spices before I saw your link  Oh well, I've got some russet potatoes for baking and lots of sour cream to make them truly fattening!

                Good day
@moyra , Samantha is still on the road to recovery. The doc the other day said the main cause for her terrible condition appears to be malnutrition. So I was right. She was pretty much starved and denied medical help. I am so glad my son dragged her out of there and has pretty much let them know that if they come near her, we won't hesitate to call in the coppers. Her internal organs are still recuperating and we don't know yet if she will recover fully.

It was a lovely cool night - 63f and sunny and going up to about 80f. Can't get better than that :blue thumb:

Can someone please share how runner beans are supposed to be cooked. Their backs are like eating string :yikes:

Have a lovely day all and do please play safe :)

Lori quite often if you let them grow too big then they can become very stringy.
I just top and tail them and if they have strings I remove them and slice then on an angle. Normally I steam them until tender.

[IMG]......you definitely won't be hearing me say that if and when we get any rain.!!!!

Another hot and sultry day awaits, but temps are heading downwards now. :hapydancsmil:

No real plans for today as yesterday was a full on hectic day and I didn't get back until early evening. Only the kitchen to sort through now...I think we all have a draw in there where we ' tidy' (;)) bits and bobs away in...my Dad had several!!

Found loads more photos...so as my younger sister will be down for Dad's interment on Monday we may all sort them together.

Have a good day...I'm off to chill and read my garden magazine now with a cuppa.:coffee:

                              Good day
Another sunny day and not expected to reach more than about 85f. Lovely. Perfect for donning a hat and getting back to weeding.

No medical appointments today for Sam and I'm thinking that I will spend the morning making the last of her summer weight clothes. I've made her two dresses, three tops, altered one pair of denims in a pretty white and turquoise pattern that I had bought in too large a size and couldn't return , and now have just the last light top to make. Then I'll take a break for a couple of weeks and then start her fall wardrobe.

@Upsydaisy I wish people would write the names of the subjects of photos so that generations later would know just who that was! I have several pictures from my parent's collection that include people that I do not know. Relative? Friends? I'll never know!

I hope everyone has a lovely day and please play safely :)

Totally agree Lori !! Most of what we found yesterday were undated and nameless ...some we could guess at.

My Mum had thankfully compiled a brilliant library of Photo Albums all of which are named and dated, so it will be a case of trying to matchup names to faces and estimate dates with this new batch. Some date back to the mid 1800s!

I would love see some pics of Samantha's new clothes,( so lucky to have such a talented Grandma) if at all possible.:)
