    Good Morning 1.jpg
Hello there everyone. Well we came second again last night - fun night all round though. @Songbird I have one of those sellotape dispensers - for the smaller rolls though and it had run out so I was reduced to using the larger roll by hand. Hence the frustration. I am looking forward to my lunch out today with the Coniston crew but am not looking forward to driving on the M6 with Storm Bram ramping about. I am picking up a friend and the pair of us are just hoping to eat and dash. All of this mad social whirl is stopping me from sorting my 'to do' list - oh that and my bone idleness!

      Good morning to you all!!

That's nice @Badly_Maintained to see you are back on track!!

Drizmal this morning after the most splendiferous day yesterday. The mercury reached 18°C!!!
Our weekly walk with Fizz's coach was so enjoyable.

Christmas cards done, so a hop down to the PO this morning. No, not with Fizz as I don't take her near a main road.

I totally agree with your last post @Busy-Lizzie I think our generation got the best deal, best music for the late 60s through to the mid 80s, best fashion, best jobs, and etc. as you say. Is it a worry for the younger generation, or a different turn of the wheel? I think they will survive.

I'd better fly and get moving.

I wish you all an enjoyable day.

Keep safe, @Ladybird4, and anyone else who has to go out in this weather.
I slept through from lights out until 7.30am, although I must have gained consciousness at some time in the night, as I was aware of really heavy rain on the roof. I think my giddy four days of socialising had caught up with me! Out to a coffee and mince pies meeting with the ladies group this morning. I was planning to walk, it’s only about 18 minutes, although all uphill. I’ve got a good raincoat but I will risk getting very wet feet, I suspect. Will have to dig out something a bit festive to wear, but will be restricted by the necessary sensible footwear!
The green bins are supposed to go out today, but are both empty. Free time and decent weather have been in short supply this fortnight. Might have time to pick up some twigs.

Loving today's picture @Tui34! @Ergates, you could do as a kind person did for Kevin Sinfield and his fellow runners on the 7 ultra marathons and tie some binbags round your feet!

Hello all. Getting windy here now as the latest storm moves our way. I agree @Busy-Lizzie , about how our generation seems to have had it pretty good compared to now. I’d just like to be able to get up from sitting without all the ooohs and ahhhs.
Interesting reading about the total ban of under 16 year olds being banned from Social media in Australia. Sounds good to me.

Morning all. Windy here too, though the worst of the storm should miss us. I've got to go out briefly, to do a bit of shopping, but I quite like the wind when I'm walking.

I'm sorry, I wasn't really "with it" yesterday (bad headache day!), so failed to greet @Badly_Maintained . Good to see you back - and I agree, your summer flowers were stunning!

@Ergates - could you go in wellies, taking your smart footwear to change into at the venue?

Keep safe, @Ladybird4 and anyone else who needs to drive today.

                    Good morning all.

@Ladybird4 you wouldn't be able to post on here if all social media were banned!

                    Wet and windy again.

                    No plans for today.

Had rooibos tea (of course) with my S. African friend this morning and the girls 3 and 5 are onto these sticker books by Depesche Top Model. I thought they would make good Christmas presents, stocking fillers for the younger set, if anyone is interested in an idea.

Does anyone remember the dress up paper dolls that had tabs on the clothes? - just reminded me of them.

I liked the dress up paper dolls @Tui34.

A big caterpillar digger has just been unloaded onto the lawn in front of the village pond and has started digging out the rushes that were taking over. What a time to do it - during Storm Bram!

                              Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen,

Sorry for such a brief post yesterday. I had just sat down and logged in when the sun came out, so I dashed out to prune my (rugosa) roses. I pruned them hard, down to about 6" above ground. I would mulch them with wood chips, but every time I put wood chips down the bids scatter them and they end up everywhere except about the base of the plants.:gaah: So I think I'll just use potting compost as mulch instead...

Storm Bram is here today and winds are forecast to gust up to 70mph. That might be enough to knock out the power supply. The sea is already becoming fairly angry. The good news is that today's forecast high is an exceptionally mild 14C! :)

You Christmas table stand / extenders look very well made to me @Allotment Boy .
A lovely and beautifully decorated tree you have there @Busy-Lizzie .
Well done at the Christmas Fair @Ladybird4 !
The embroidered blackbird brooch you bought is very beautiful @Ergates . Tremendous skill involved in making it.
Sorry to hear about the unpleasant weather yesterday @Penny_Forthem . Here was actually nice-ish yesterday.
You very probably do look 10 years younger now @lizzie27 .
                              Thank-you for your kind words @Tui34 & @Liriodendron & @Songbird .

Stay safe out there today folks.

We could do with one of those again @Busy-Lizzie as they'retaking over our pond again but minus all the oat willows, ash trees and brambles when we moved here.

No stormy stuff here and it's very calm and mild tho it is dull and grey today after glorious sunshine yesterday. I did not sleep well again so am having a quiet day doing admin and am bout to visit the chooks. Floppy is moulting and has gone all quiet and shy and spend her day in the polytunnel with Jasiri whilst the other three are still very skittish but getting a bit more adventurous and now know a visit from me means treats.

Double dance class this evening so no mucky stuff but it should be mostly dry the rest of this week and I can get outside to play.

Mum used to buy me Bunty but I preferred the Beano. Didn't do dolls. Mine all lived in shoeboxes in the cupboard.

Hope you're feeling better today @Liriodendron. Stay safe everyone who has to travel today, even short distances.
