    Aloha everyone,

It's very warm this morning and I expect a hot day. Mrs Shiney is off on a course today so I can get the dancing girls in :snorky:.

We have friends coming tonight so I'll prep all the food this afternoon.

I want to get a lot more digging done today as tomorrows forecast is heavy rain - the garden needs it. I'm getting on quite well with digging out the rampant weeds and the all the dogwood suckers.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

Good Morning everyone. Just got Amber out for her walk and it started to rain as we did, never mind the ground needs the rain. Have a good day, keep warm and dry and above all things safe and well. God bless. :wub2:

        Aloha everyone,

@moyra it's good that you got Amber's walk in as they forecast thunderstorms later. The rain hasn't reached us yet.

Dinner for guests went well yesterday :blue thumb:

We may tour round some garden centres today (we don't usually do garden centres) as some people have given us vouchers for helping them out with things. We need to spend them soon before they run out. We have £75 worth. :)

Keep well and have a great day

        Aloha!

According to a character on one of this morning's episode of Corrie, gardening is:

"You go and bend over and weed and weed and then it's the same next week. It's a mug's game"... :heehee:

It is a cool day. We have warmed up to 38f and are expecting to shoot up into the 50's.

The heated greenhouse maintained a cozy 62f overnight so I know I can lower the setting a little and the chillies will survive a little longer.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday and remembers to play safe!

Shilling is 12 pennies, penny is 4 farthings or 2 ha'penny. 3 pennies make a thrupenny bit, 2 thrupennies make a tanner or sixpence, 2 tanners make a bob, 2 bobs make a florin or 2 bob bit, add a tanner to a florin and you got a half crown, 2 half crowns make a crown, 2 crowns make a ten bob note, 2 ten bob notes make a pound :)

We stopped using the groat as we felt it made the currency unnecessarily complicated :phew:

              Aloha everyone,

Can't I use mine any more?

You forgot to tell @CanadianLori that a Copper is a penny and you seem to have missed out a Sovereign, or Sov, (pound) and Guinea (21 bob). Then there's still a 'quid' or a 'nicker' (£1), Lady Godiva (fiver or £5), Tenner (£10), Pony (£25), Half ton (£50), Ton (£100), Monkey (£500)

Them's was the good old days :heehee:

The rain has mainly passed us by and we still need some more. Sarafi and I were out in the garden yesterday afternoon. Like all Bengal cats he doesn't mind the rain. It doesn't even bother him when we accidentally catch him with the hose when we're watering the greenhouse (when we don't spot him amongst the plants). He just stands up, shakes himself and then lies back down.

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

Prob no time for gardening today but weather wise it looks like a good week to come for plenty of planting and tidying :)

I've just finished my morning session digging in the garden and have come in to dry off. The drizzle has stopped and the sun is coming out. Sarafi was annoyed that I wouldn't play with him.

                        Hello folks :)

Sun is shining  Looks like summer although cooler now:)

Got the bug now....cut more perennials back this morning exposing more hellebores and emerging daffodils. Spaces created for wallflowers too. Divided actea Black Negligee.

Despite all the cutting it is not all doom and gloom; still plenty of colour out there though.....salvia Elegans, leucanthemum, Amistad and others enjoying the cooler conditions......their colours enhanced in the lower light levels; the foliage on cornus Aurea and Elegantissima is taking some focus with red stems still to come.

                        More tidying later :)

                          Aloha everyone,

We seemed to have missed a day :rolleyespink: :)

Yesterday was another busy one with no time for gardening. I sorted out a load of things for Barry and had to do some odd jobs around the house.

We have a nice sunny morning and I may see whether I can get some mowing done.

Keep well and have a great day

                          Aloha!
