    Morning Everyone,

None too bright this morning, not sure what the day has in store for us.

Loli when it buckets down like it did yesterday what do your chooks do. Do they mind the rain or do they go into the roosts to get out of it.

Kandy, think you said you were going for your annual check up. Hope it went ok. We fret about these things before we go and if we are lucky then come out all ok. Hope Mr K is keeping all right these days.

WOO have you had that op yet or are you still waiting. I am hoping it is all over and done with and you are on the road to recovery.

Well Shiney did you get enough rain to keep you happy for a day or two, did you get the hailstones by the way? Well nearly lost all this had forgotten that I hadn't press post reply and turned away from the page. Fortunately it was still here when I turned back the page. Oh Lord senility is getting to me all ready!:gaah: Have a good day all.:)

    Good morning everyone,

Shiney, glad that you enjoyed that film and that the rain held off as you walked back to the car so you didin't get wet:blue thumb: We keep having those rain clouds go over us as well so they must be heading your way, although i must admit we did have some rain over Easter so my water butt is full again although I am syphoning it off to store in bottles in the greenhouse in case we need it for later on when we have the heatwave:snork:
Evidently we had some claps of thunder yesterday but I never heard anything but then again I am goind a bit deaf:snork:

I can't see you having any problems getting exempted as you have a good case with your back problems so you should be ok with still using the hosepipe:biggrin: Hope all goes well at the Chiropractors and he gets you sorted:dbgrtmb:

Moyra, yes I had my scan done last evening but found that the drops stung quiet badly, more than they usually do:frown: I remembered to mention as well to the lady who did it that the optomitrist at Boots found the slight haze when I had my eyes tested the other week which could be the start of a cataract so she made a note of it.No doubt they will send me the results in a few weeks time:snork: Mr Kandy is back at work and touch wood his back problem is ok now, just a bit creaky though in the morning due that old age problem:snork:

Loli,I have a computer screen problem as well but luckily we have got some wet wipe type thingies that I use now and again but it still looks mucky when i tilt the screen a certain way and the daylight catches it:biggrin:

Anyway I have been down to the surgery for another BP check and the nurse said it was lower than when the Dr did it the other week but is confident i won't have to go on tabletsI gave her the piece of paper with my own readings that i have done over the last week or so so she is going to log them down so everyone can see I don't usually have a problem with high BP.Mind you I was put in a room on my own for twenty minutes before hand so there is nothing like looking after people:ThankYou:

Hope that Woo and Penny are both ok as well.

The  has just come out so the fog will vanish soon although there is a good dew on all the plants in the garden:spinning:

      Good morning everyone,

Its sunny here, but we did have frost overnight, supposed to be really nice tomorrow and then the rain moves in for 4 days!!

I'm home today, but i have a hair appointment at 9, and then need to do the banking, grocery shopping, need to get some stain, and a couple errands for Brad.

      Have a great day all.

Morning Everyone. Beautiful morning this morning but they reckon there will be a hard frost tonight so I think I might have to fetch the tobacco plants in from the cold greenhouse not worth taking a risk with them. My other babies I shall just have to throw another blanket on their beds!:heehee:

Thought my new curtains were coming today until I looked up the order online and see they have moved the delivery date back again to the 19th. I am not a happy bunny. Was thinking of cancelling the order but if they should turn out to be exactly what I want that would be silly. I have the old curtains up so it is not as if I am desperate for them. So patience is a virtue I shall just have to practice.

Have a good day everyone. :)

      Good morning everyone,

Its sunny and nice here today, might as well enjoy it, rain is moving in around supper time, and supposed to rain for the next 4 days.

I have a few things to do this morning, Brad's working for a few hours, and then we need to do some shopping this afternoon.

      Have a great day all.

      Good morning everyone....
      Hope everyone is well:SUNsmile:
It's a gorious sunny morning here...but had a slight frost overnight.. we have been getting the rain as forecast but not as bad as predicted...
Moyra ...when it rains heavily the chooks make a run for the house...OUR house not their own:rolleyespink: so when Mr Lolimac isn't in i end up with 7 chickens and 2 dogs sat whatching TV in the kitchen:heehee:
I'm having trouble keeping up with time...the clock keeps whizzing round and can't seem to fit in all the jobs i'd like to do:phew:
I'm off to work now so i wish you all a lovely day:SUNsmile:

      Good morning everyone,

Loli, I've now got an interesting picture in my mind of ckickens and dogs sitting indoors watching TV :snork:. Many years ago Mrs Shiney had pet bantams and they always used to sit on her lap and watch TV with her.

We had a busy day yesterday. We were taking my sister (and hubby) out to celebrate her 70th and we went to Cambridge. They have a very good Park and Ride system so I drove to one of the P & R car parks and we took their bus (free for us with wrinklies bus passes) to the Fitzwilliam Museum (excellent museum). Then we walked around Cambridge (very interesting place) and ended up at the theatre where I had booked for us to see the 4 p.m. performance of Avenue Q. That was the international big hit show about 3 or 4 years ago. It's brilliant and Mrs S and I had seen it in the West End when it first came out. After the show we walked to a restaurant I had booked, had a very good meal and then caught the bus back to the car park. It only started raining once we were back in the car :dbgrtmb:

Today Mrs S is teaching so I'm on kitchen duty as usual. In between cooking, serving and washing up I hope to carry on with sorting out the lawn edges.

      Enjoy this sunny day

      Hi Everyone,

Loli I can just picture you with the boys and all your girls around you in the kitchen keeping out of the rain. I can't say I blame them.

Been a bitterly cold day today. Well wrapped up all my babies for the night again and strapped the covers down in case the wind gets up. This is mean after that period of nice weather we had to bring us back to this. It's cruel. I think I am going to hibernate again. :)

      Morning Everyone,

By golly there was a hard frost last night. I am glad I brought the tobacco plants in and put another cover over the top of my other seedlings. I think If I had relied on the cloche and a bit of fleece alone I would have lost them last night but I had the fleece over them then the cloche and then a gaberdine cover over the top of that. When I looked out first thing the green gaberdine was white. So glad I took the extra protection. I notice some of my runner beans are through as well just as well they were well covered too!

How did everyone else fair? Hope nobody lost anything last night.

Have a good day today all.:)

      Good morning Moyra, and everyone,

It was an extremely heavy frost last night. I put a couple of cardboard boxes over the hostas that are about 12" high - just in case. Didn't do anything else so I'll find out soon whether anything got affected.

I'm going to do some mowing and then I'm taking Mrs Shiney out for lunch - wrinklies special :heehee: She's been dealing with cancer patients this morning so will need a break.

They've forecast rain for the next seven days so, at the weekend, we'll see whether they got it right.

      Have a great day

      Good afternoon everyone...
Yes it was a frosty one...even though i was jiggered when i came home from work yesterday i got to it and wrapped everything up....earthed up my spuds as well, refilled the bird feeders and did some mulching...so by rights they should have been warmer than me:dbgrtmb:....still didn't get everything done that i wanted to but my energy ran out...
I hope you and Mrs Shiney enjoyed your lunch...i'm sure you know you are a lucky man Shiney as Mrs S sounds like a real diamond :dbgrtmb: ...
      take care all:SUNsmile:

      Good morning everyone,

Hope everyone is feeling ok and love your avatar loli:dbgrtmb:

We finally have some rain here and it looks like it might have started in the early hours so it has just come at the right time as we were having to chuck our washing up water on the garden out the front and i have been watering from the waterbutt out the back so hopefully it will soon be topped up,although we are still going to save as much water as we can so hopefully our water bill will be going down:snork:

I heard on the radio yesterday that Leicstershire is now part of the drought area and Mr Kandy's cousin up near Birmingham is now part of it so they will have to find another way of filling up their new hot tub when it needs doing in a few months time:snork:

Has anyone heard how Woo? as it seems ages since we last heard from him.I wonder if he has had his op yet:scratch:

Have a good day everyone and do keep dry:smile:

      Good morning Kandy and All,
My avatar was kindly done for me by Mr Searchfield as he knows i'm a numpty when it comes to 'computery' things:heehee:it's taken me over a year to be able to post photos and even then it's hit and miss:doh:
It's a wet and wild one here this morning...i know we need the rain but we don't need the wind....
I was also wondering how Woo was getting on,hopeing he is on the mend:dbgrtmb:
As for the chooks in the kitchen when it rains....they came in yesterday AND it was sunny:rolleyespink:.....excuse the carpet...it was originally laid for my old furry boy Duggy as he was very lame and i was petrified he slipped and made his cause worse and it's still down for Archi and Theo untill i get over being paranoid about joint problems:rolleyespink:
      Take care everyone:SUNsmile:
