    Good morning everyone,

Sorry to see that Murray didn't take the golden cup and both me and Mr Kandy shed a few tears alongside Andy and his family, although i do thin Federer could have let him win just this once as it isn't as if he is short of a bob or millions:snork:

Shiney glad to hear you had a good day up in the smoke.I would love to go and see Queenies sparklers but i can't see Mr Kandy wanting a day down in the big smoke with nine million other people crushing us but glad that it was a memorable day for you both even though it tired out Mrs Shiney:biggrin: Hope she did well in the sale of her glass and other pieces. It must be nice to be talented:snork:

Moyra, glad that Ambers booster went off ok and that the weather isn't making her too damp and soggy. It has been horrendous here but at least we are not flooded out like a lot of poor soles. If you have got problems with feeling unwell with the sugar levels, try looking in Boots and other places because sometimes they have a sale on and you can get a meter with a few of the strips quiet cheap when they have a new batch of meters in they sell the old ones cheap to get rid of them.It is the strips that cost a fortune and our local Tesco's were wanting £29.50 for 50 strips a few months ago. What a rip off:mad:

Loli, hope you enjoy your break in the van up in Yorkshire Dales. There was a programme on a few weeks ago called i think Dale Life and it was most entertaining and beautiful scenery.I am sure your fur babies will love it and the exercise will be good for them.Belated Birthday Greetings to Mr Loli, sorry i missed it and hope that he had a brilliant day:blue thumb:

Woo,hope you are keeping well and that your garden is as beautiful as ever:smile: Give my love to the pets:spinning:

Penny, not long now is it to the wedding and i do hope the weather is kind to you all on the big day:yes: Hope you and your family are all keeping well:smile:

We are still picking raspberries over at the lottie so are eating them fresh and freezing the rest and the strawberries are still cropping despite the weather, birds and slugs attacking them:frown: I think we might be luck to get ten plums off of two trees this year, all the pears have dropped off and there are hardly any apples on the trees either apart from the Bramley and the Cox.All the rest have zero on them:frown:

    Enjoy your day everyone:smile:

    Aloha everyone,

Morning Kandy, I hope you're feeling better today :dbgrtmb:. good luck at the clinic

It looks as though the sun is trying to come out so I hope to mow the front lawns this morning.

Moyra, we've got someone coming to start in the garden next week. We probably won't know what she's like for a while. She's into permaculture but we just want her to do maintenance around the garden for now. Once she's settled in and learns our garden I would then expect she would want to suggest things.

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha

    Aloha Everyone,

I hope Loli and Mr. L and the boys got away ok and hope the weather changes for them so they can have a nice time.

Kandy, I missed what you said about the diabetic strips etc yesterday. I popped into my doctors yesterday to make an appointment after the pharmacist told me that it could be my diabetes making me swimmy/giddy. The nurse there gave me one of the new machines to take home to try and it appeared to be ok. So now I don't know what to think of it. I am going back to the nurse on Wednesday afternoon so I will see what she says and whether I should see the doctor afterwards. Steve has got an appointment for his tummy on Friday must get him sorted out. I hope you are feeling a bit better. Cant help but feel this weather has a lot to blame.

Shiney, I hope you new gardener works out fine and proves to be an asset.

Now must go and check my blood again to see how it measures this morning.

Have a good day all. Aloha:wub2:

Aloha everyone. A lovely sunny morning this morning. Makes a nice change. Not sure whether I can get out onto the garden this morning as I am still having this giddy/swimmy turns. I am off to the doctors at 2pm so hopefully will be able to find out what is causing them. Hopefully it is not my diabetes out of balance.

Kandy, how did you get on at the diabetes clinic are you all in order there?

Shiney, hope you and Mrs S are ok and of course WOO do hope you are keeping ok. Take care everyone and have a good day. Hope Loli is enjoying her break away!

    Aloha:wub2:

    Aloha everyone,

It's been a sunny day with the occasional heavy shower.

Moyra, I hope things went well at the doctors :dbgrtmb:

I've been doing household chores today. Did the washing and drying and what little ironing there was (my shirts). Hoovered the whole place, went shopping and have just cooked a curry. It should be ready just in time for me to eat it and get off to bridge.

Mrs Shiney is cutting back loads of dogwood. I might go out and do a little bit of weeding but my back is playing up a bit so I'll take it easy.

    Enjoy your evening

    Aloha

    Good afternoon everyone,

Been busy today, washing, line drying, ironing, airing dusting and hoovering etc etc so like Shiney it has been a very busy day as usual:snork:

Hope your bck gets better soon Shiney as you know you need to take things easy when you get to your age:biggrin:Give our regards to Mrs Shiney and hope you are not working her too hard

Moyra,my review went very well with my HbA1c at 39{5.7%}same as March but my Cholesterol is up from 4.something up to 5.4 but the nurse hasn't put me on Statins but has said to go back on the Benecol to see if i can get it back into the 4's and she wants to see me again six months time.My Liver and Kidney functions are both ok and so i can carry on as normal.

How are you feeling now Moyra, and what did the Dr say about your giddiness?I am wondering if it is an ear infection that is making things out of balance but with Dietbetes it can be a number of things. My brother in law suffers with the same symptoms as you at times but don't know whether he has tried to find out what is causing the problem. He has to go next week to have another four injections in both his eyes as the pressure has gone back up again.I am not surprised about all this as his numbers were in the 30's when he was first diagnosed four years ago and damage has been done to the eye nerves:eeew:

It has been sunny here for most of the day with an odd shower but they reckon that the temperature is going down to 8c tonight so looks like the heating might have to go back on:snork:

    Enjoy your evening everyone:smile:

    Good morning Kandy and everyone:smile:

It is a lovely glorious day today with blus sky and plenty of sunshine so have already been outside and got a load of washing hung out to dry:snork:

I feel a bit clogged up today and quiet chesty so will use my Olbas Oil and might put some in some hot water to inhale so hopefully will feel better afterwards.:snork:

As it is going to be such a nice day will pop to the allotment and get some more stawbs and raspberries picked then will start on the weeding as they are getting a hold now:snork:

Have a good day everyone

    Aloha both Kandys and everyone,

Lovely and sunny here as well.

Kandy, your results seem quite good. 5.4 isn't bad but the medical profession seem to be reducing the level at which they recommend taking Statins. I think this is not a good step if you can keep your level OK as the side effects can be a nuisance but people with diabetes are more at risk.

To confuse you, here are some opposing views:-

    http://www.bhf.org.uk/heart-health/treatment/statins.aspx

    http://www.saga.co.uk/health/medicines/statins-case-against.aspx

    http://www.nursingtimes.net/whats-n...side-effects-of-statins-found/5014991.article

I didn't make Mrs Shiney do more than 8 hours of gardening so you can see that I'm a thoughtful person. :heehee:

Today we're taking a 92 year old friend to lunch. Up until last year he and his wife used to go dancing every week. Then he had a fall and had to have his hip done. The op went OK but then he got an infection in it and since then has had three more ops . He's only just got to the stage where he can get out and has difficulty and pain with it. I hope he can manage to get about enough to take him to his favourite pub. They do great lunches.

My back has eased up but I'll take it easy today and just cut the edges of the lawns.

It's Mrs Shiney's car's MOT today and mine tomorrow (my car, not me). I've also got my yearly NHS dentist check up today.

    Enjoy your day

    Aloha
