        Good day! It is still morning here and still quite cool (54f) so @Flumpy, going out into the garden would be a chill!:hate-shocked:

        It is low time of use rates for our electric because it is the weekend so I am going to be dashing about vacuuming everything today, including my van. I had a bag of potting soil burst a seam in there a few weeks back and need to get what I couldn't whisk out, sucked up and gone.

                          Aloha everyone,

                          I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to get on here. We've had guests for most of the week (different people each day) and I'm head chef and bottle washer as well as assistant gardener.

                          More coming today and not doing anything too fancy and just doing a spicy lentil soup, Carbonnade of beef, with mustard mash and runner beans, followed by fresh fruit salad (mango, melon, grapes, strawberries and freshly picked blackberries), dark chocolate mousse and lemon possets with fresh raspberries. Almost all can be prepared in advance :blue thumb:

                          We shall have cream teas and/or cake in the afternoon but the scones and cakes will come from the freezer (already made for our open garden).

                          Yesterday reached a too hot 32C :phew: and today will be hotter.

                              @shiney , think you should allocate chores!! Sounds like you're doing it all !! :sad:

                              Just say it's too hot to feel like eating ( which in my opinion is true!) ...and serve the fruit salad with some top notch ice cream.;)

                                @Upsydaisy there's no problem but I'm doing more because the maid and the butler have the day off. These stupid modern laws say we have to give them time off! When I was a lad....

                                I've just picked beans for today and Mrs Shiney is sorting out the scones and cake and getting all the plates, dishes and cutlery ready. She'll peel the spuds as well. :blue thumb:
