i have some yellow flag iris seeds in the greenhouse and theyb are beginning to germinate. I know they need especially wet conditions, so should i water them more than the others at their seedling stage.

Also, i have a very very wet area in the garden that sometimes looks like a pond in winter, and remains damp in hot summers. i was planning to plant the irises here. Is it a good idea? Is there any suggestions for other plants that i can put in wet areas like this?

    thanks

Morning GG No. Just keep them moist, it's the tubers later that like damp.

Having said that I have some in a south facing border and over the years have never had a problem. I am however going to transfer some to my new bog-bath along with bullrushes (the smaller kind for me), hostas, zantadeschia and of course some of my lovely sarracenias.

Woo, that's a bit more than I have got but mine is doing well. I've picked over 20lb so far and have been selling it for this year's charity. I took this picture after the latest picking, This is the rhubarb that I split last year.

walnut, I love rhubarb but Mrs shiney isn't keen on it.
