Hello everyone, I have just moved into a new house with an established garden that hasnt been looked after much so plenty of work to be done it seems.
My name is Dean and im fairly new to gardening coming from a home that had concrete everywhere the only thing i grew (or to be more accurate kept alive) was in pots and baskets so weeding was never a problem I am now up to my neck in weeds (I think they are weeds anyway lol ) and am having trouble with the grass, Trees and identifying everything in the garden.
I have 2 Laburnum trees and a few Hostas dotted about amongst the other trees bushes and plants that i have yet to identify.

Soil seems rather dry (like concrete on the top but not bad underneath) so in between painting and decorating im trying to break the topsoil up and introduce some compost to improve the soil and i have my eye on a part of the garden to use as a vegetable plot but that will be after i have tamed what i have already got.

As you can see i have lots of work and future ideas so I would like to say sorry now for all my questions that will start to come after I have had a very good read of the threads in here.

Hi Dean & [IMG] Looks like a nice plot with plenty of scope.. A you identify plants & trees label them up.. Then watch the garden go throught this year as you do everything else.. That way you will know what plants you do & don't want to keep etc & it will make planning allot easier.. You can always post photos in our ID forum for us to help you with it all.. So looking forwar to seeing you around.. :thumb:
