Almost dry, cold but frost free. In their natural habitat they will see a dawn frost from time to time.

Nothing too exotic or unpronounceable from me. First photo I staged the washing and watering can behind it for a more urban feel :snorky:
I tried ornamental grasses from seed this year . The one below planted around the Olive tree is
Squirrel Grass - Hordeum Jubatum . A lovely tactile ornamental barley , the fronds rippled in the wind and were like silk.
Below is Scaevola Zig Zag , bought as plug plants. Really good performer for basket or container with its peculiar half flower. Photo is from Google - note to self must take more photos next year !

@HarryS , I like those grass seed heads.
It's just a pity the foliage look like your average uncut lawn.

Stipa tenuissima has similar 'flowers' but the leaves aren't noticeable....

Sounds easy enough! Is it the germination/growing on part that's tricky? I always understood that they needed to be grafted?

Sturt's desert pea says it all to me, cold maybe but dry atmosphere, not easy this time of year,
Would be pretty impressive @longk if you can get that through the winter.:dbgrtmb:

I been pleased with a few plants this year.

Primula Pulverulenta - I was disappointed with it in ( 2016 ) and was considering moving it or giving it away. But it was fantastic this year loads of flowers and flowered for weeks, it looks well with anthriscus ravenswing which I was also pleased with first year I've grown it.

Helenium Moerheim beauty - Agastache Black adder
