@CanadianLori that made me chuckle out loud. It must be so lovely living so close to nature but I guess comes with the fact that you have to be big and brave should any decide to venture into your home, but I bet it was a sight to see hahah.

I love snakes I used to have two up until two years ago. I’m terrified of spiders of any size, and also insects that fly especially moths they terrify me, not sure why, but yet I love butterflies. I went walking For a few hours, alone, a couple of years ago whilst my hubby and son went mountain biking in the lakes, I went to do a small climb and my cousin was texting me saying to be careful and a mad axe man could drag me in the bushes etc etc so go me panicking, but then this beautiful butterfly landed on me, and began to walk around (I associate butterflies with our daughter who is in heaven) and so I immediately felt calm, I let her walk around a bit but then got a leaf for her to walk on and put her back into a bush B1AF1A03-A5B7-4908-9FBB-1EB7C89323A9.jpeg 4E28F3AB-39C0-4BA3-9C05-BD7C64D773F9.jpeg 12282ACE-E428-4915-9B2D-48FA576A971A.jpeg

Today I paid off the mortgage - we are now debt free :dbgrtmb:.

I got the distinct impression that the building society weren't particularly happy with me .

Good for you!! I finished my mortgage many moons ago and always regarded it as just like paying rent, if you don't pay your rent you're out, if you don't pay your mortgage you're out:dunno:
But being able to live after that without anyone telling what to do with your House is a bonus.:hapydancsmil:

Good for you, we've paid off ours about 19 years ago, hubby came into some money from his mom's home when she died.

We drove to Shepton Mallet to meet our son and daughter in law as it was almost half way between us and them in Bristol. We hadn't seen them since Christmas so we met in the town park for a 'socially distant' picnic.

Somebody around here had someone visiting for the weekend, which they shouldn't and I know of another neighbour has his girlfriend visit every other weekend and he goes to see her the other weekends.

Been one of those weeks so far. Last Monday Van was booked in for service, some work need to be road safe and MOT.
Local VW picked up on Monday. Late Monday call to say parts required so will not be ready till Tuesday which was fine.
Tuesday they ring and say it will not be back home till Wednesday.
Wednesday I paid the bill, best part of 1k. Van arrives but no MOT and they take it back.
Late Wednesday van returned with MOT.
Thursday I go to reload van ready for work and bless me a 16 inch crack on windscreen.
I contact VW who were a bit defensive but agreed to look into it. I hear back saying no luck but delivery drivers yet to talk too.
                            They ask for photos.
I also included one from my security camera showing the delivery with crack. Without that I doubt it would have ended well for me.
They then admit delivery driver saw crack but still delivered van. They apologised.
I then get told I must claim through My insurance.
Auto glass earliest is 15th so booked, another £75 paid.
Just sent another email to see what is going on to VW.

can’t believe they sent back my van in that condition, I’m hoping the MOT was done correctly.
2 weeks of lost work and I’ve had to apologise to customers. No hire van offered by VW.

Saturday. Decided to take 29 year old Lawnmower to bits not starting too well. Bought 20/07/1991 I still have receipt. Oil change every 2 years.
Suffolk 420 Briggs and Stratton engine. Removed tank, carb, air filter and housings. Slimy stuff in tank and carb. Oiled cable and linkages, washed filter, tank, carb, housings and re assembled (quite easy) fresh clean petrol installed, turn on tap wait a few seconds. It started first pull as it used to. Just to be sure I tried it this morning. They were made in England to last a lifetime and you can still get spares.

I should get a loan van today at some point. VW told me one was available yesterday at 6pm but I would have to drive down. Had to explain how as my van is not Driveable.
gut feeling as they have a Kombi transporter is that it may be no good as I’m throwing waster and tools in it but I have to allow them to bring it up. So far I’ve lost 9 days of work and feel bad for letting customers down all of whom have been great and understanding.
If only they owned up and got a loaner to me straight away all would be fine.
