I have planted one of these together with other exotic/tropical type shrubs plants such as Fatsia, muso basjoo, T-Rex, fortunei and humilis palms, canna, silk tree, cercis, gunera, foxglove, evergreen ferns etc ...

At the garden where I planted it, I have space for some clumping bamboo, but will plant that in spring and will need to dig a deep trench and add a root barrier

will also include some miscanthus (have never planted this yet)

reports say that it 'suckers' and from what I have seen, it needs a protected spot as it does not like strong wind ... looks good in autumn, when it turns red

looks healthy to me! .... they are nice .... will start turning red very shortly when the cold sets in

don't feed it any fertilizer now until spring though ... according to weather reports, we have a few more days of hot weather, so just give it a good water soaking once in a while

I grew Rhus typhina 'Dissecta' in a very large pot once, under planted with White Cyclamens and Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens', it looked stunning, especially with its winter colours and it still does; it's still happy in its pot in my mum's garden after 10 years :thumb:

I have never seen one with leaves curled so far round they look like tunnels or spirals?
The one in the pic in the link looks like mine nice and healthy.
