First saw this plant last year but as it was quite expensive and reputedly tender I didn't buy one, however a trip to our local farm shop that stocked them last year changed that

On his sale trolley was one for £2.50!!, £10 less than last year and as it had been out all winter this individual at least has sailed through several frosts to -5 in this area, so definitely worth a go at the price I got it for :snork:

Are you sure that is Y. aloifolia.?

I have the green version which is pretty hardy, but the leaves are rigid with a sharp spine.

That looks a bit floppy to me:snork:

Pete, yes that is what the label says and when I Googled them they look the same, however I did see a link to a discussion on another forum where someone was questioning whether they were at least a hybrid because of the leaves??

Yes it`s an hybrid and really pretty when grow up , but not as hardy as many peoples makes us to belive , I would say it`s on the same line of elephantis , nothing less nothing more
