I really really must have run over the bad luck Badger
    Further problems
Saturday night, I took off my spectacles, and the leg dropped off, I thought wait till the morning look, for the screw and refit it
OH oh it was not the screw, the leg metal TITANIUM had fractured, I paid £380 for these unbreakable glasses
Sunday I went down to the optician, but it is shut on Sundays, so went further up the road to Specsavers
I got an eye examination, picked new frames and lenses £390 but got pensioners discount so only £295
After searching the internet about my old glasses I found they have an unconditional two year warranty (I had them eleven months)
I went down to Boots to do battle, and I had printed out a polite letter
Can we help sir, well I have a problem my glasses have broken, and they DO have a two year warranty
OK sir, check, check again that is fine pick up you brand new glasses on Thursday
bugger I just paid out nearly £300 I did not have to have
Next, we had a wet room fitted back in April, power shower and all that, Last night sat at my computer in the room beneath the wet room
when the ceiling fell in with about five gallons of waste water!
Phoned the telephone number left by them, no such number, but I found them via Fife Council, and they are supposed to be coming in the morning
Next brother Tony’s daughter, saved up for a couple of replacement windows, the company took the windows out, but did not notice the old window frame
was actually the Lintel also, Next morning gable end has collapsed
My lottery ticket only had one valid number

Blimey Jack, you are getting more than your fair share of bad luck.

£380 for a pair of glasses though :hate-shocked:

You're certainly having more than your fair share of bad luck at the moment Jack. Your house number isn't 13 by any chance is it? Isn't it strange how all these things tend to happen at once though. Hopefully your luck will get back on track soon. I wish you good luck from now on. :)

      Spectacles are MY eyes.
So I buy extra light titanium frames rimless, and extra fine varifocal ziess lenses, thus the expense,
I have had four weeks of exceptional bad luck, as long as my Children and Grand Children are unharmed then I put up with it

I am due on a nice holiday soon, so hope that puts it all behind me,

At least Angelina's Bulgarian beauties are doing me well, still green but 14" girth :-)

Thank you all for your support, it truly does help me through it all

Well you have to laugh or you might just cry
The Plumber arrived bang on time this-morning
Advised could not check the piping as it was a sealed wet room, so suggested to view the piping through the open plan ceiling

Now the only water on the upper floor is the wet room, and the only ceiling that has collapsed soggy wet with a nice flush of water was the room below

He removed the soggy wet plaster boards, and although agreeing it was soaking wet, he could not find a leak or a drip even

Not to worry, he stayed downstairs, and I went in the wet room, shower on full blast, sink taps running, to overflow, and flushing the loo every four minutes, not a sign of a leak
So I suggested maybe it is weight related moving pipe joints, so I did the above again, this time walking around the room in wellies , sitting on the loo and flushing it Zilch
I had a look myself too

Unfortunately as they can not find an at fault leak, I have to replace the ceiling myself

However he said leave the ceiling as is and use the wet room as much as possible for a week and he would pop back
Well if it is a slow drip, and there is no ceiling to collect it, then the leak would not show

So I have stapled a large clear plastic sheet to the ceiling, and see what occurs

                  Regards All

                  Jack McH

Well I was going to say never rains but it pours, but that's not really appropriate in this case is it?
Seriously though, hope your luck changes soon Jack, things can only get better. :dbgrtmb:
