    Hey all
I treated myself to a zz plant the other day. I noticed the pot was mishapen and firm like it was rooted too much so toyed over whether to repot or not, so i left it a few days before deciding to just go for it. Glad i did as it was really really root bound and some roots were rotted so i had to cut those off (after having to cut the pot off) so it was potted into a pot just one size bigger. Was this the right thing to do?

I know what it is now. It grows from a tuber like a potato.
I had one a few yrs ago when they first became available over here but couldn't get any information about it and it died.

Aww thats a shame. I checked before i bought it and it says they are very tolerant of low light and low humidity etc but to be carefull not to overwater etc. Its obviously been overwatered at shop though as some roots were mush! Yuck

I had a couple for a few years, they do actually have an insignificant flower.

Got to admit I got a bit bored with mine and just left them outside over winter:biggrin:

Likes it a bit dry and shaded, kind of similar conditions to Sansevieria .

I think you have put your finger on it Pete

I have had one for a short while. But I think I am slowly (or quickly) killing it. Its in my conservatory where the humidity is very high, and it tends to get heavily watered, and misted three times a day, as its surrounded by bananas, cannas and gingers etc. But it does make a good foliage plant.
