Is it worth or even beneficial to tidy up the garden?
I have a smallish town garden, it wouldn't take much to get it looking tidy. But I'm trying to teach myself not to faff so much and leave things alone.

I am not sure regarding greenhouse / conservatory (and the shed sounds like a definite no). I have a Kentia Palm in the corner next to the conservatory door (but within the main house) and it is surviving. Based on a quick look, yours should be a bit more cold tolerant than that, but still it's...
