Bah, humbug!

Wales and the Midlands had a decent amount of snow. Cornwall had the predicted 100mph wind gusts and over 40000 people were still without power first thing this morning.

All ok with us, but the bungalow across the road had two trees fall on the roof at 10pm last night. The tree surgeons came at 11pm to make sure all was safe, and have just arrived back to sort it out. We were very lucky. Not so the pigeon, whose remains and feathers are spread all over the lawn....

I've still got a few to pick tooAlso got lots of kallettes to pick as well, hopefully this cold spell has made them tastierI did a bit of pruning over Xmas, mainly the grapes and redcurrants. Hoping this year I'll get a small harvest of grapes it's their third year now.

I use Clover, as @hailbopp suggested. It has peat in it. At the moment it's sold by 2 garden centres fairly local to me in South Norfolk. I'm happy with it.

Just went out to check on my Hibiscus as it is sunny and 12c but coulfn't sit on my chair as Munchkin has occupied it ...The Hibiscus are fine and some have buds ...But the Jacaranda is thinning out ...

If my chillies get a bit leggy I just plant them deeper when they are potted on. They root readily from any buried leaf nodes and I don't remember ever losing one from this method. I don't use grow lights or a heat pad so I won't be starting them till next month.
