    A sunny, calm 2 degrees, everywhere still crunchy under foot, I think it was all hail rather than snow over night, rain due tomorrow it seems.

    If the bed is going to become congested @CostasK, raising the roses like that may also improve airflow and reduce the likelihood of black spot. You may need to keep a closer eye on watering though...
