Hi everyone Here’s a pic of a squash/gourd that someone gave me the seedling for last summer. The skin is very hard so peeling it is very difficult; not like a pumpkin or butternut squash. Could it be an inedible gourd? Any suggestions gratefully received! Thank you

Good idea. I only realised after I removed mine that it had been propping up the neighbour's fence, which promptly fell down.

I got my parents a little miss figgy fig tree last year so if it grows well i will take a cutting , i got my medlar tree yesterday took nearly 2 weeks to arrive bare root sealed in a big green bag , just considering now do i put it with other apple trees or ither side of garden beside the rown...

The shops always have arrangements of plants in baskets or whatever, trimmed up with ribbons/bows/general glittery tat, and they seem to sell well. I fear most of them will barely last longer than a bunch of flowers though.

50/50 - partially ignore, partially tidy up. I have loads of ivy climbing the wall - it (ivy) tends to bush up on the top of the wall every year; cherry laurels in the end of the garden - not my choice, they were there as large trees when I moved in - I had a gardener to reduce those to bare...
