    They don't come around here anymore to read the meters so it's more accurate to read it ourselves instead of a estimate. We used to have direct debit but not anymore.

    Yes its true, Brugmansia sanguinea will over winter in the ground at root level. You do have to treat it as a dieback perennial in that situation though.
