    It is not really an issue one way or the other. It might avoid the new growth getting a bit frosted if you leave as is until the risk of frost is past or prune off the old growth now. Acanthus is very hardy. I grow a fairly hefty clump which survived going down to -18 oC some years back.

    It is now up to 11f -10c and the sun is making an appearance. So lovely after days of cloud. It's perfect weather for staying inside with my cuppa and Corrie :biggrin:

    Yes its true, Brugmansia sanguinea will over winter in the ground at root level. You do have to treat it as a dieback perennial in that situation though.
