    @Alisa - I succumbed to a cymbidium in Morrisons too! It came in a pointless outer metal planter which I accidentally left behind at the till. Honest!

    I think I put the cyclamen up last month, but they really do last all winter in the unheated porch, the smaller one on the left is a seedling from presumably the red one.

    Sounds worth trying to me. However, I usually plant roses into plastic pots as with JI no 3 compost they are too heavy in terracotta.

    Had 1 hedgehog out and about last night, haven't been puting out food as no sign of them, but last night some apple i put out for the black birds had a few teeth marks in them so looked at cctv...
