I received seeds today for an orange variety of this plant. Has anyone tried it from seed? Thank you in advance for any advice.

I personally don't believe they have a long term future in containers, but agree planting in that position isn't a good idea. I think some trellis on the wall with a suitable climbing plant either side of the door way would be a better option.

One of the reasons I enjoy an electric car, it is still working well, running smoothly and saving me money, 9 years after it was first bought...

There are builders grade cheap gloves. Bright orange rubber palms, you should be able to see them even on a grey day.

Go for whichever is available in the colours/varieties you want at a price that suits you. If you buy plug plants they should develop tubers that you can keep for subsequent years.
