Like detectorists a very slow start but given Mackenzie Crook is the writer of both I suspect it will build. Very niche.

I may have missed something earlier but why don't you buy a growlight?You don't have to spend a fortune on them you can get one that looks like a fluorescent tube. Hang it up over your set-up. Doesn't need to be on all day , put it on a simple time switch. It will make a huge difference.

I also grow Miscanthus Morning Light and Miscanthus Zebrinus as well as Calamagrostis Karl Foerster (on Plantminded's advice) all in pots about the same size as yours They all seem to be thriving and the Miscanthus have survived being divided last year.

Most of my pots are next to the house/shed/wall and I find this helps shelter them from the worst of the elements

I've never had success with a bag when air layering so will be fun to see if those gizmos work

Sunflower seeds make quite nice microgreens, I used ones for birdseed, much cheaper! Batchelors dried peas are the best for pea shoots.

My first Iris reticulata have opened today.

I've seen many a slug being munched by a hedgehog, they sound surprisingly crunchy.

I also passed a house near where I live and that had a nice couple of rhododendron in the border, quite close to the rose bushes, should I knock on their door and have a word? I didn’t bother as could tell by the label on the rhododendron it was a cheap one from Lidls*.As they say if you like...
