Haven't listened to GQT recently but whilst producing Watercress in running water is the ideal method, it can definitely be grown and provide a decent harvest in a pot - or even in a garden pond. I've done and eaten both and still alive and kicking . Obviously depends on your site/surroundings...

All my plants are edible but I wouldn't say they are decorative and some have never fruited eg my figs Some plants just constantly die eg my cranberries

I also grow Miscanthus Morning Light and Miscanthus Zebrinus as well as Calamagrostis Karl Foerster (on Plantminded's advice) all in pots about the same size as yours They all seem to be thriving and the Miscanthus have survived being divided last year.
