What are we doing in the garden 2026

All I would be able to do in the garden at present is paddle and plant rice.

    What's your weather like 2026

Another wasted day, I'm losing count now how many days of wet gloom we are getting. Drizzle for the most part and hardly a hint of brightness, feeling cold with the dampness at 7c.

Given the probability that you will harvest and enjoy the bean pod rather than the embryonic bean seed, what advantage do you seek ?

    Plant labels

I also use the coloured labels as no need to write on them if you make a note of which colour applies to which plant. NB don't lose your notebook

    Ideas for shady front garden....

If you did decide to remove your grass areas @machtucker, Hakonechloa makes good ground cover. I have it planted under an Acer in my lower garden shown below in summer, autumn and winter.
