I can only identify the ivy in your photos, do you know what species your hedge is? The ivy has undoubtedly taken a hold over it, depriving it of light, nutrients and water. A close up of the hedging with leaves visible would be helpful.

Nothing dead here, although most Heucheras are looking shabby. They are currently on the review list which precedes the departure lounge . The bluebells are back with a vengeance though .

the main thing with nutrients is they get outcompeted by grass, trees, brambles, and in poor soil those take longer to colonise if at all. wild meadows were maintained like that with now extinct ruminents, deer and cattle doing that job now to an extent.there are many perrenial native flowers...

The Nerine Bowdenii is pretty hardy, some of the other varieties are somewhat iffy, although you living in the South unlike me in Scotland might have better luck. From my experience of more years than I care to mention! Nerine bulbs need to be planted really high with a good 1/3 of the bulb out...

Living in Scotland makes trying to grow Lavender even worse. I personally hate the stuff, every year without fail I am asked dozens of times if I have lavender in the charity plant sale.Answer NO! What did I spy in Lidl yesterday? Lavender for sale….in February having been under glass and heat...
