    Advice on raised beds please

The advice given by @simone_in_wiltshire re the size and planting medium is ideal. Have you considered including some Spring and Autumn flowering bulbs as well to give interest for much of the year ?

Not a clue, there is not much to go by atm!

Are there actually "bulbs"? They don't look very bulbous, but have lovely fat roots. Could they just be something herbaceous?

    What's your weather like 2026

We just touched 19c today and the sun peeked out briefly but the breeze stayed with us. It is 17,3c now and showers are still forecast.

1500 amperes is not to be sniffed at for sure - all good as long as the magic smoke is contained, but the moment something goes wrong, that is going to be one hell of a bang.

If it’s any consolation @CostasK, I made the same mistake a few years ago with a speciality Eucalyptus which I bought to hide my neighbour’s home office/shed. It sulked and lost its leaves rapidly. I replaced it with bamboo. I think you may have caught your Portuguese laurel before that stage :fingers crossed:.
