i noticed last year there were no potatoes beneath where i planted the original spuds so i put them in quite deep this time purely guesswork...anyone here grown purple or red fleshed potatoes?...

What model of ego mower do you have @Loofah been reliable ? Keep thinking of trying one they are lighter than my petrol machines, I've seen a few folk have problems with the batteries dying...

That's right, I have them in my garden, they come in from the hedgerows. I leave them in odd corners because they're pretty and brighten the place up, but I get rid of lots too.

...just be aware of the effect of salt water runoff buildup affecting other plants nearby... It might just be easier to use unsalted water from a kettle - perhaps if you have a little left over...
